Jewellery by Silvana

SOMETIMES QUIRKY, ALWAYS ORIGINAL

I do not mass produce my work,  so should you wish to contact me about any that you see, you won’t always get the exact item in the photo – each piece is handmade and therefore unique.  Some are very much one-offs, others may be remade, but there will always be differences; for example, my gingerbreadmen are all cousins, my sheep are from the same flock perhaps and so on.

Look in my British Craft House or Folksy online shops for those items definitely in stock and available straightaway (links on the front home page)

ALL  jewellery items have sterling silver posts, fasteners  or chains unless a black satin thong or black cord is requested, but these will also have sterling silver fastenings. Though very few people are allergic to sterling silver, should you be one of them, I can substitute the existing sterling silver ear wires with titanium versions on most designs. I only use indeterminate metal chains when finishing off keyrings.

All my sterling silver jewellery currently weighs less than 7.78g, therefore is not legally required to be hallmarked.  However, I do have a small, limited range  that  has my Edinburgh hallmark.

About Silvana

Though I originally started out at St.Helens College of Art with a foundation course many moons ago, I chickened out and went for a job-at-the-end kind of degree instead and returned to continue studying  jewellery & 3D design in my 40’s.  I’ve carried on adding various techniques/materials to my repertoire since then, like silver clay, anodising aluminium, enamelling, resin,  pewter  etching & casting, glass, flame painting copper and upcycling old coins, though some have fell by the wayside – the studio isn’t big enough to fit everything I’d like to do!

I am a member of the Guild of Jewellery Designers and all my work is handcrafted here in my studio in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Lancashire.
